Our Client, leaders in their field, specialise in manufacturing world-class nutritional food products. For over 57 years they have produced product for famous high street brands. Managed by an experienced team and supported by highly qualified staff, this is a prestigious company to be employed by. They are now looking to recruit a Legislation Specialist to work at their Kendal Site
Purpose of role
You will be working as part of the Research and Development team alongside the Quality team and Senior Management, to comply with industry regulatory and quality requirements, analyse audit outcomes, carry out appropriate corrective procedures, and oversee risk management procedures.
Interactions with many different teams within the business from the labs through to sales and production will be required in this role. The successful candidate must be capable of communicating at senior levels, both within and outside the Company.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring regulations are met for UK, China, EU, US and other countries as the business grows.
- Reading compulsory information required by Regulatory Bodies.
- Responsible for overseeing all activity and changes in legislation, with a focus on conveying these to the wider team, ensuring compliance is met.
- Checking all artwork and packaging to ensure they meet regulations.
- Completing approval forms for packaging materials, liaising with the Packaging Technologist, providing feedback and changes.
- Ensuring the Company is within legislation for the products being made.
- Complying with safety procedures including but not limited to: adopting safe working practices, wearing the required protective clothing and use of safety equipment appropriate to the role.
- Other duties as required by the business demand.

Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant subject.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in an office environment.
- Knowledge and experience of working within the consumer goods/food manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of the Dairy industry is desirable.
