Our Client, based in Lancaster, are leaders in their Engineering field. They are currently looking for a Shift Inspector with an Engineering background to work at their multi site operation.
Scope of Role
To provide Goods Inwards and in-process quality control services and documentation in accordance with processes and procedures, provide inspection support on site, provide guidance, mentoring and training and act in a supervisory role. To ensure their paperwork audit trail is robust
Main Responsibilities and Activities:
- Goods inwards inspection
- Patrol inspection / in process inspection
- Implementation of inspection regimes and best practise
- Subcontractor liaison
- Inspection of assemblies
- Management and maintenance of Inspection tools & calibration schedule
- Faro-arm use
- Manage NDT by 3 rd Parties
- Document management; NCR’s, good inwards paperwork, material certification etc Product traceability and labelling
- Kitting of parts & assemblies and appropriate storage
- Perform regular stock checks and identify shortages
- Working to Project schedules and timelines
- Management of working environment: cleanliness, organisation etc
- Any other duty which the company deems reasonable & acceptable
Competencies and Experience
- Several years’ experience an engineering, project-based Quality environment
- Fork Lift Truck driver
- IT literate
- Hand-held measuring instruments and Faro Arm
- Ability to read engineering drawings and generate reports
- Familiar with the use of ISO 9001 documentation and processes
- Interaction and management of suppliers

- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
